[Quick Trip Home, Part I and GIVEAWAY WINNER!]

I snuck away for a trip home recently. Shhhhh.
And I got home on 1 tank of gas (have I told you lately how much I love my car?!). That is from Cali to Arizona... say what?!! Gosh darn it, I love that thing.

My trip into town was brought about by one of my very dearest friends in the whole wide world, Aimee, and a special bundle of joy that she is about to bring into this world. It was so amazing to see her & her sweet husband Jered and the anticipation they have for this miracle child. As friends, we have been through a lot together, including the loss of two of her babies before Carter. So, as you can imagine, this baby is VERY loved by all of us. The baby shower was amazing and I can't wait to show pictures (they were taken on the fancy camera, so that takes more time to upload than these iPhone pics... they will for sure come later).

After a few weeks of homesickness, it was great to kind of hibernate and spend time with just my family (with the exception of my girls at the shower). We had a grand 'ol time. I sure miss San Diego (Well, everything but the price of gas... say whattt??!).

1 // Me at Sprinkes. This place is totally overrated. $3.50 for a cupcake better ensure me that it a.) tastes good and b.) doesn't have multiple hairs [presumably from the employees who were not wearing hairnets] dangling from the frosting. The end.
2 // Sailing on the San Diego Bay. My dad has sailed his whole life and it is, by far, one of my favorite things to do with my family.

3 // Me and my beautiful mama :) I love her so much! 4 // My parents dog, Rocky. After getting used to Hartley's size over the past couple of months, Rocky might as well been the size of an ant. He is the cutest thing ever.

5 // Proof of how incredible my dad is... He called at 10:30 AM on a work day and said that he was on his way home to hang out with me... I think he's kissing up to me because he really wants a grandkid ;) So we went to lunch and watched boats 6 // The pier at Pacific Beach

7 // Bike riding with my mom on the Mission Bay boardwalk 8 // Me and my dad at La Jolla Cove

9 // Me and my brother, Sean (check out that beard, 'yo!) 10 // View of where Joshua and I had our wedding reception... can't believe it's been almost 5 years! Where does the time go?

11 // Devouring mud pie and Irish coffee at an Irish pub 12 // My dad

The trip was good for my soul. But it was so good to come back to my hubby and pup... I missed them like crazy. Oh, and I missed all of this open sky. Gah! Can I tell you a secret? This place is really growing on us.
