Unfortunately some travel plans I had for this weekend and all of next week were cancelled unexpectantly. But as my hubby reminded me, "Heather, when life hands you lemons, make spiked lemonade." Bwahaha.
Rather than sitting around and being frustrated, some of the amazing women God has put in my life and who have been such good friends to me in this season of my life came over and dragged me out of my house! We are not even connected by similar faith or things in common, really... we have simply just found one another, or I should say, God has brought us together as we are all in a transitional season of life right now. I'm thankful for people like them who show me how important it is to be a welcoming individual.
I had a very interesting weekend but three really beautiful things end up coming out of it... the first I will share tomorrow, the second was that we visited a new church that we LOVED (finally!) and lastly, was the community garage sale! :) We live near one of the largest master-planned communities in the US and twice a year, they put on a community garage sale. You can see in one of the pictures below a picture of map of the participating houses... it was 2 full pages! People got really into it. One of my girlfriends bought a computer chair and we used it as a system to cart around the other girl's baby in the car seat (oh, we're creative!). I bought a ton of baby clothes from Gap, Gymboree & Children's Place for $0.25 ea (couldn't resist! :) from a lady who was finished having children after two sets of twins (oh my!) and one lady gave me a huge box of wine glasses and other things like pool noodles for free! I also bought an amazing vintage chair for $5 and plan to reupholster it. We had a great time. Oh, and if you see in one of the other pictures below-- one guy was selling his set of pedicure spa chairs (what!?!)...
How was your weekend? Do anything fun? :)
