The Help

I have so many things on my mind right now.
By bags are still unpacked from my trip home.
My house is filthy. 

There is so much mail to sift through.
 

But my heart is so full with happiness.
I think it might just burst if it could.
2012 is going to be an awesome year.
I just know it.

Bring it on.

During my trip home, I finally finished the book "The Help."

When I finished the book, my mom & I watched the movie.
I cried. And cried some more.
I just love Aibileen & Mae Mobly's relationship...
It gets me every time.

"You is kind. You is smart. You is important."

I recently talked about personality tests and one of my strengths is "fairness." I have a hard time when people are snotty and uppity and think they're better than others. I would rather sit at a table of poor people who are thankful for their food than sit at the nicest restaurant in New York City with a whole bunch of hoity-toity stuck up snobs. That's just me.

"The Help" was an incredible movie and a fabulous book. I related to Skeeter in so many ways. I hate the tea parties, the pointless, stuffy conversation. I crave realness and transparency. Getting to the deeper issues. Talking about the things that are sometimes difficult to talk about.

Don't get me wrong-- I love makeup, hair & fashion like any other girl. But that's not all life is about. And it's not all we have to talk about.

If Skeeter was a real person, we would probably be the best of friends.
