Adventure, Adventure

Now that I am no longer feeling like death, we have been doing some hiking and exploring on Joshua's days off. Exercising in any form seems to keep the 24/7 nausea away.

Hiking is in my blood. It's something that we always did together as a family growing up. I want our kids to experience it, too. So don't be surprised if you see our 6 week old in a backpack and trekking up the mountain with us :)

These pics are actually from last week when we hiked a trail close to our house. We went back there again yesterday. Hartley loved the water so much that it was a necessity to explore it again.

After our hike, we got shaved ice from the most incredible little whole-in-the-wall place called Finito's. I've had shaved ice in Hawaii before and this blows it out of the water. We drive 45 minutes to get that stuff, because when you start craving it, the thought of it never seems to escape you.

After the shaved ice goodness, we drove all the way to the top of Mt. Hopkins/Smithsonian Observatory. The views were spectacular. At night, it's other-worldly. Which is why people come from all over the world to see the stars here. It really is something else.

Happy Wednesday, amigos.
