Our Christmas was pretty awesome this year, although we celebrated as a family the day after Christmas. We still managed to hop on over to our friends' house for a fabulous Christmas lunch and enjoy time together with our little family and friends on actual Christmas Day. The next day, we woke up to cinnamon rolls, our baby girl in Christmas pj's and Christmas songs playing. Since we are going on vacation next month, we didn't do a lot of gifts this year. Eden did, however, get some fun new toys that will kick us into shape in 2013 (bike carrier, etc) so we are excited about that!
We decided to leave the desert floor, so we headed up to see some snow in our nearby mountains and had lunch at a little restaurant that was nestled in the pines. It was SO cold and was actually snowing the entire time! This CA girl was freezing her bum off. Who knew that I'd move to AZ (thinking it would actually be HOTTER?!) and instead have way more intense weather than I knew growing up?! I love the diversity here.
When we came home, our baby girl decided that it was a good day to SIT UP ON HER OWN, and so that was a super fun moment for us as new parents. Finally, a very dear friend of mine surprised me with a pregnancy annoucement and that concluded a pretty fabulous Christmas if I don't say so myself. I can't wait for next year when Eden really "gets it"-- ahhhh that will just be magical! Although I will say that it was pretty amazing experiencing Christmas this year with a little one. There really is nothing quite as amazing! God is so faithful and good to have blessed us with this amazing little baby girl and we are so in love with her! She was definitely the best gift ever this year!
