If you've read this blog here for more than a hot minute, you know that this blog originally started as a way for me to document our journey from leaving our hometown of San Diego, CA to Tucson, AZ, in April 2011-- a place where we knew very little people, where we had no idea what to expect, etc. I went from big city, to small. From a city with a ton to do, to one that is more limited. I went from green, lush scenery and gorgeous beaches to open sky, a dry climate, incredible sunsets and lots of brown dirt. Both are drastically different but both contain lots of beauty that is unique to it. I've learned over the last 2 years to stop comparing the two and just embrace them as such: they are different. I've also learned that you can complain every single day about what you see that you do not like, or you can make the best of any situation in life and see the beauty in it. Do you see that blog title? Um, yeah. This is one of my most favorite quotes (I have a lot of them). It sums up everything so perfectly! Almost all of life can be summed up with a mental choice: make it good or make it bad. It's up to us!
“The longer I love, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company...a church....a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past...we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude...I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you...we are in charge of our attitudes." - Charles Swindoll
