The last 7 weeks have been mayhem. On July 31, we decided to sell our house. August 3 we sold it, and then you know the story. After we were in escrow, we began looking for a rental home because we didn't have anywhere to live in just 45 days. So we found a rental we liked, but the day before we were supposed to sign the contract we just didn't have a peace about it and backed out. The next day, we signed a contract on the house I actually preferred over the other rental. A cute, 3 bed/2 bath home right across the street from one of the neighborhood parks. Fresh new paint, carpet, appliances, landscaped backyard, one story, 1800 square feet. We only signed a 6 month lease but are loving the place. It's weird to rent after you've owned, but I must say it's really nice to take a break from the pressure of decorating and organizing and caring about a home all together.
The same week we found the rental, my parents put an offer on a house right around the corner where they will live part-time. My parents living just down the street is pretty much the biggest answer to prayer for me. You have no idea how happy it makes my heart that Eden will get to see her grandparents more than just a few times a year!
The day my parents put an offer on their new home (which they are actually moving into today, eeek!), we sat in a 4 hour long planning meeting where we signed paperwork to build our future home!
The build has been a huge secret of mine because it was all dependent on our house selling. And it sold. We actually closed escrow a week early. Everything went so, so seamlessly. I thought buying our house went easily, but selling it went even easier. It just goes to show that when you are in God's Will, everything works out.
So here we are, and we are starting a new adventure. I didn't seen this coming so soon but it's happening. We feel like the timing is actually good now because we will be in the home before we have our next baby (whenever that happens!).
I never thought that we would be in a position to do this, which is further evidence of God's faithfullness and provision in our lives. Just 5 years ago, we were dealing with unemployment issues and just waiting and waiting and waiting on God to open doors. And literally everything we have dreamed in the last couple of years has come true. God is so, so good-- good and faithful in all of the seasons. Even looking back on the hard times, He was good. I am so thankful for those times because I feel like I really appreciate where we are at all the more. I don't feel worthy far too often enough!
Thank you, Jesus, for your gift.
