It's Time for Coffee

Hey there and happy Sunday! I figured it was about time that I pulled up a chair and joined you for coffee. Things have been so quiet here lately. We spent a lovely Thanksgiving week up in Sedona and then the past week since coming home we've been under the weather. Trying to catch up now!

If we were to sit down for coffee today, I would ask how you are doing? What is God doing in your life? How can I pray for you specifically? How is your family doing, and how are YOU?!

If were were to sit down for coffee today, I would tell you that I am pushing 29 in 3 short months. And this year for me, has been remarkable. Truly one of the best years of my life. And that I am starting to see how everything God put me through, and had me experience over the past 11 years specifically, is starting to make sense. I'm seeing the bigger picture and how He has weaved all of these paths of mine to merge together to make me who I am today.

If we were to sit down for coffee today, I would tell you that life seems quiet here. Quiet in the relational sense. Our closest friends have moved away, and the year before that, we went through the same thing with other dear friends. I see God bringing people into our lives that will "fill" the next chapter and the relationships with those already here continuing to bloom.

I would tell you that Eden is going through a particular clingy phase and it's exhausting. On Sundays, she will literally shake her head back and forth before nursery and say "No!!!" She literally knows our drive to church and starts crying as soon as we walk into the parking lot. I know it's this age and season, but it's hard sometimes. And people seem to think that her being more socialized would help...if they had a glimpse at our calendar, they would see she's socialized enough. It's her age, it's completely normal and "this, too, shall pass." But man, it's tiring sometimes.

Over my carmel brûlée latte, I would tell you that I'm not feeling very festive this year and that it's been hard for me to get into the Christmas mood. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that we aren't in our own home this year. Next year it will be so different! Josh even designed the outlet location on the exterior of our future home with Christmas lights in mind ;)

Speaking of the house, I can't wait to move! Only about 7 more weeks until we are in. We have a pre-drywall inspection this up-coming week and then we should start seeing some drywall activity and then stucco!

I would tell you that I started a little fun side job and am already having a lot of fun with it! I feel so blessed to get to work because I want to, not because I have to. It's been fun to have something to keep me busy while my little one sleeps and to bring me back to something that I get to do for "me" that doesn't involve changing diapers or doing dishes (plus, can't beat the extra money!).

If we were sitting down for coffee, I would tell you that I got to talk to my sweet friend Casey on the phone the other day and it seriously made me happy the whole day! That girl has a way of doing that to me. I love that we can go months and months without talking and then just like that, we can connect like we never left. Can't wait to see you in March, sweet friend!

I would end our coffee date by saying that the Internet is SO weird and it continues to amaze me how it brings people together! I was talking to my mom the other day about it and why, just why, it works. And I think it's because it brings us together based on common interests, and more importantly, because we love Jesus. I have a group text that's been going for months and months with some of my best blog friends who just "get it." We can laugh over the things that non-bloggers just don't understand. And we do life together every.single.day from our homes, all over the United States, while our babies play and we are getting dinner ready for the night. I feel so thankful to have friends all over the world like this. I'm thankful for blogging, it really has truly changed my life (even if I don't do it as often as I'd like anymore!).

If we were having coffee today, I'd give you a hug goodbye and hope that it happens again soon. Coffee with a girlfriend is a beautiful rarity these days.
