Some things I never want to forget about you, Eden, at this fun age of 20 months:
- You are currently obsessed with your nails being painted. The first thing you look at when I come and get you out of the crib each morning are your nails. If one of your finger tips is missing polish, you consistently remind me with an, "Uh oh!"
- You are becoming more of a picky eater. You definitely have your favorite foods: corn, black beans, rice, chips and salsa, oranges/apples/grapes/strawberries, smoothies, and anything covered in ketchup. Sometimes you ask for ketchup for breakfast. You don't gravitate towards meat but you will eat it if I hide it in ketchup. You are definitely your mama's girl!
- You might be a mama's girl in the ketchup department, but as of late, you are ALL about Daddy. Ever since I went away on my girls' trip a few weeks ago, you are obsessed with anything and everything Daddy. It makes my heart happy to see and I know that your Daddy feels especially close to you right now.
- You are so easy! You could play all day outside, throwing the ball for Hartley, playing with your toys and getting covered in water as you play with your water table. You are still a great sleeper and napper and I pretty much don't know how I got a child as predictable and easy as you!
- You aren't in much of a cuddly stage right now, but I do get the occasional cuddle after a long nap or when you aren't quite awake in the morning. There is nothing I love more than just being next to you and feeling you breathe deeply as you rest on my chest.
- You are already such a great big sister. You just come up to my belly sometimes and kiss it. Whenever I ask you, "Where's the baby?" you lift up your shirt and look at your tummy.
- You love to help me do chores-- anything from loading the dishwasher to switching the laundry from the washer to the dryer to sweeping outside on the porch. You have to do it all on your own, and quite frankly, that sort of independence doesn't surprise me one bit (you're just like your mama, after all!).
There are so many more attributes about you that I love. I love your spunk, and your goofiness; I love how you make me laugh and give me the biggest smiles when you think I'm funny. I love how you crack yourself up and have to wear sunglasses in the car when we drive. I love your little pout faces and the way you have a skip in your step and the constant state of inquiry you are in as you are discovering everything around you. I just love every single inch of you. You are such a blessing to us and we could not adore you more.
