[ Vintage Style ]

Okay, so here's the deal.
I'm not a vintage girl.
Okay, now that's off my chest.

I mean, I barely knew what vintage really was up until a few years ago (is that bad?). I think my first real exposure to it was on Rachel Zoe's Bravo show :) Yes, I love my reality tv, thank you very much. It wasn't until I started looking at blogs that I really discovered the style and grew to appreciate it.

But that's just it... I appreciate it, but it's not an honest reflection of my personal style.
Personally, I naturally lean more to clean, classic styles like jeans and a clean T-shirt/blouse (Gap, Banana Republic, Express-esque). Or there's the beach style that's influenced me, having grown up in San Diego: sundresses, flip flops, shorts, halter tops... the end. And in the style I like for my home, I usually gravitate towards a more modern style with clean lines.

I have SO.MUCH.RESPECT. for people that can throw this look off. It takes a lot of fearlessness, in my humble opinion. I admire how they can take the looks of the 60's and 70's and make it modern. I wanna be more like them! They're cool.

So because I am not a vintage fashionista with personal pictures to share, I thought I would introduce you-- if you haven't "met" them already (but I'm pretty darn sure you already have)-- to some of my favorite vintage-lover blog gals.
Please don't judge & think I'm a creepy blog stalker. Ha ha ha. Ha.

Naomi over at The RockStar Diaries

I found Naomi about 6 months ago through one of my childhood friend's sister, Carissa. Carissa and her husband are talented photographers who had done a photo-shoot with Naomi, her husband (who yes, wears bow ties & has great style himself) and their adorable little munchkin, Eleanor (photo is bottom left and here and also this amazing video here). She has the most adorable vintage style and I love how that transitions into both home and baby clothes.

Elsie Flannigan over at A Beautiful Mess

I think I found Elsie through Naomi. She's another crazy talented lady who started a vintage clothing & accessory shop called Red Velvet. I think what sold me on Elsie was how courageous she was to incorporate all of those bright tights (below) on her wedding day. The girl also is a crazy smart entrepreneur who, in addition to operating an online store & running a store that's open to the public, also creates amazing online e-courses related to blogging or starting a business.

Miss James over at BleuBird Vintage

She's the queen of vintage in the blogging world; I think we can successfully say that. I love her style and the documentation of life every day with her adorable family. And seriously, doesn't she look like Mary Louise Parker from "Weeds"?!
