A Trip to the Snow & A Little Bit About Discovering My Strengths

Hubby had the day off yesterday.
We took advantage of the time together & headed up to Summerhaven on Mt. Lemmon again.
We were just up there recently, but this time, the landscape looked quite different-- quite white, quite perfect.
There was no one up there.... it was our own, secluded little winder wonderland.
Hartley loved the snow. Can't you tell? :)
Love, love my boys.

One little thing I wanted to share today.
Are you like me and obsessed with personality traits of yourself and others?
I LOVE learning more about myself and what makes me thrive, tick, succeed, etc.
God has made us all so different and unique and it's fascinating!
(Please tell me you find this interesting, too, or else I'm going to start getting embarassed...)

Have you heard of The Myers & Briggs personality tests and the book "Strengthsfinder" by Tom Rath?? Please tell me you've read it?! It's a must-read! I love tools like these that help us understand more about ourselves and why we do what we do. For example, I didn't realize how much of a "planner" I was until I took these tests. Now I know that if plans go off-schedule, someone with a personality like me is quickly to be shaken up and grouchy! It's little things like this that have helped me really start working on improving those areas of my life-- and focusing on what I'm good at (rather than the opposite) all with God's help, of course!

"Hide not your talents. They for use were made. What's a sundial in the shade?"
-- Benjamin Franklin

What is your Myer Briggs personality trait?

Mine is: ESFJ
E= Extroverted
S= Sensing
F= Feeling
J= Judgment
ESFJ Personality

Warmhearted, conscientious, and cooperative. Want harmony in their environment, work with determination to establish it. Like to work with others to complete tasks accurately and on time. Loyal, follow through even in small matters. Notice what others need in their day-by-day lives and try to provide it. Want to be appreciated for who they are and for what they contribute.

That really is me 100%.
"Do you have the opportunity to do what you do best every day? Chances are, you don't. All too often, our natural talents go untapped. From the cradle to the cubicle, we devote more time to fixing our shortcomings than to developing our strengths."

-- Strengthsfinder website

My strengths, in order (more themes here):

Harmony
: People strong in the Harmony theme look for consensus. They don't enjoy conflict; rather, they seek areas of agreement.
Consistency: People strong in the Consistency theme are keenly aware of the need to treat people the same. They try to treat everyone in the world fairly by setting up clear rules and adhering to them.
Achiever: People strong in the Achiever theme have a great deal of stamina and work hard. They take great satisfaction from being busy and productive.
Focus: People strong in the Focus theme can take a direction, follow through, and make the corrections necessary to stay on track. They prioritize, then act.
Futuristic: People strong in the Futuristic theme are inspired by the future and what could be. They inspire others with their visions of the future.

Do you know your personal strengths?

Time to start focusing on what you're good at instead of what you're not!

Definitely check this stuff out... it's so interesting!!
Or am I just a nerd? :)

Tell me YOUR personality traits!!
