Hi, I'm Shakti Dove! I am a wife, student, thrifted treasure hunter, artist, sister, and, most importantly, a child of God. I am also a lover of laughter and glitter. I blog about all such things and other random bits.

It's so hard to pick just one, but I really love West Coast Creative
What inspires you?
I am inspired by color and small things. Something as simple as an interesting twig or a bit of broken glass will prompt a project.
Adventures in Flip Flops is a lifestyle blog chronicling my desire to experience everything. And by everything I mean books, food, traveling, and adrenaline rushes. And not necessarily in that order. I'd love to share my journey with you, so please drop in and say howdy!
What's your favorite aspect of blogging?
Making connections and recording my history. It's so fun to look back and see where I was years ago, how my focus has changed (how my writing has changed), and use that to plan what I want to do in the future. And how gratifying is it to make friends online (that are not weird, creepy basement dwellers) and to see them in real-life? How awesome that we can support and inspire each other from so far away?

Books. Nature. Climbing. Adventure. Traveling. Great Coffee. Friends. Judaism. Wonderful food (both eating and cooking). The youth I work with. My Bucket List. My family. You can find a list of my goals here, but in general they are read more, save more, have more adventures and make a difference.

My journey thru life with family, friends and a little dog named Tucker. My blog is a little bit of this and that. I have always been a stay at home mom and have two teenage daughters who don't really need me as much. Alot of changes came to me in 2011 - My Mom passed away in September and my husband took a job many states away. Come over and say HI!

I have two things: meeting the wonderful people that blog and to get things off my chest. When I blog about something that someone else can relate to and they email me about it and say they in the same boat or feel the same way. I feel I have connected with that person. Also, about 3/4 times this has happened where someone will email me and say they have never left a comment before but wanted to know they enjoyed my post.

What inspires you? My children- I want to be the best mother I can be and show them by example.

Poofy Cheeks started as a way for me to 'escape' my daily diaper duties as a mom for just a few minutes each day. It has turned into so much more! I share crafts, recipes, and bits of real life on my new series 'Let's Do Lunch'.
What's your favorite aspect of blogging?
My favorite aspect of blogging is getting to know and form wonderful friendships/relationships with others!

Most importantly I am inspired by my family, but I am also SO inspired by other members of the blogging community.
Tell us a little about your blog!
I'm a country girl that loves to wear flannel, bargain-hunt, say "dag-gummit", eat meat and potatoes, and get crafty with my bare hands. I create furniture and home decor that looks "rustic" and love to find treasures at garage sales, thrift stores, consignment stores, auctions, even items tossed to the side of the road.
What's your favorite aspect of blogging?
It allows me to connect with people who share the same passion and interests that I probably would have never met otherwise. There are so many gifted people in the blogging world and I love how willing they all are to share their God-given talents and secrets!
What's your favorite blog of the moment?
MissMustardSeed.com - to say this woman is talented is an understatement. I get a lot of my inspiration from her work and she has great decorating tips and tricks!
What inspires you?
I love the story of how my grandmother found some old apple crates in a junkyard in the summer of 1949 and proudly turned them into a cupboard for dishes, complete with curtains. Her and my mother inspire me to continue our joy of turning trash into treasure and to glorify God with the talents He gave us!
